"Following the ceremony a breakfast was served in theLaclede hotel where Mr. and Mrs. Hectorne have an apartment.
"The bride operated the Russell Variety store here for five years, leaving here eleven years ago to manage a similar store Olathe, Kan. A few years ago she moved to Plattsburg and has been managing a variety store. She is a lady of charm and refinement and will make an ideal mate for the man of her choice.
"The bridegroom has long been a resident of Cameron. He was employed for several years as bookkeeper for companies in St. Louis and Kansas City.
"THose from Cameron attending the wedding were: Mrs. M. B. O'Loughlin, son, Gerald, Miss Ruth Brown, Mrs. John F. Barry, Miss Alice Murphy and Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Barry."

"Ella L. Russell, 90, 679 West Cedar, Olathe, died Sunday at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Olathe.
"Born June 12, 1895, in St. Louis, Mo., she had lived in Osawatomie, Paola and lawrence before coming to Olathe 50 years ago. Her husband, Walter S. Russell, was the owner of Russell's Variety Store in Olathe from 1937-45.
"She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Olathe.
"Survivors include a son, Walter E. Russell, Olathe, three daughters, Mrs. Marie Cochrane, Leawood, Mrs. Virginia Standefer, Redlands, Calif., and Mrs. Lucille Melton, Santa Paula, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
"Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Olathe Cemetery."

[16, 17, 18] Walter RUSSELL purchased a new Ford Model T Touring car - On Sunday the 13th of May, he and his wife, Ella, and his infant daughter, Ella Marie, "motored" to visit his brother, Claude RUSSELL, on his farm north of Paola, KS, a distance of about 10 miles.
On the next Sunday, Walter and his family, along with his brother Ray and his wife, "motored" to Lawrence, KS to visit Walter and Ray's parents, John and Martha RUSSELL. The distance was about 55 miles. On the return trip to Osawatomie they had to abandon the car on account of mud. The newspaper article did not reveal where the car was abandoned, how they got home, or how they retrieved the car!
Then on the 4th of July, Walter with his wife and infant daughter, "motored" to Independence, MO, and then on to St. Louis, MO the next day to visit Ella's parents, John and Mary Ann EBERHARDT, and to show them their new granddaughter, Marie. The distance was over 300 miles, and the car's top speed was 40 to 45 miles per hour. Ella's sisters, Miss Mary EBERHARDT and Mrs. BOYER [not Ella's sister] with son Willie, joined the RUSSELL family on the return trip. They stopped in Marshall, MO overnight before continuing on to Osawatomie. It was reported that the roads were fine, and they had a delightful trip without accident or mishap.

[11] The family of John Wesley and Martha Jane RUSSELL, 3 generations of 26 people, had their picture taken at their home on their farm - Included were their 12 living children, 5 daughters-in-law, a son-in-law and 6 grandchildren. At the time, a son, a son-in-law and a grandchild were deceased. John was 62 and Martha was 53.
"The children of Mr. and Mrs. John Russell very pleasently surprised them by coming Sunday with well filled baskets and spent the day with them. Twenty-six were present for the day. In the afternoon A. Lawrence, the photographer of Lawrence came out and took a family group picture. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Bert Russell and family [sons Cecil and Bert, Jr.] of Paola; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Russell and baby [son Roy]; and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Russell of Wellsville; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Russell and baby [daughter Marie] of Osawatomie; Miss Katie Russell of Kansas City [MO]; Mrs. Lillie Bryan and daughters [Helen and Bessie] of Lawrence; and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Russell; Myrtle, Ernest, Ray and Grace Russell; and Mr. and Mrs. John Russell, all of this place [community of Belleview in Eudora Township, Douglas County, KS]."
