    • "Mrs. Catherine Cochrane Smith, 74, former Atchison resident, died at her home in Kansas City, Kas., today. She was the widow of Dr. John Ellsworth Smith, a World War I veteran, who died in February, 1937.

      "The daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W. W. Cochrane, long-time residents of Atchison, Mrs. Smith was educated in Atchison and was an active member of the Baptist church. She later moved to Kansas City where she was graduated from the Women's Medical college in 1898. She made Kansas City her home for 45 years.

      "She is survived by one brother, W. W. Cochrane of Kansas City, Kans., one niece, Mrs. W. W. Hunter, of Coshocton, Ohio, and one nephew, W. W. Cochrane, of New York City.

      "Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 o'clock in the Stanton Chapel. They will be conducted by her pastorfrom Kansas City. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon cemetery beside her husband."
