-
Name TALIAFERRO, Charles [1, 2, 3] Suffix Sr. Birth 1670 Rappahannock County (Old), Colony of Virginia, England
[1, 2] Gender Male Guardianship-Ward 6 Jan 1672/73 Colony of Virginia, England
[2] Col. Cadwallader JONES was appointed guardian of Katherine DEBNAM TALIAFERRO's three youngest children who were still under age, Robert II, Charles and Katherine, whom she had with her first husband, the deceased Robert TALIAFERRO I - Role: Ward
Land 26 Apr 1676 Rappahannock County (Old), Colony of Virginia, England
[4] that was gifted to him by Henry BENSON, 1000 acres, - This was land that BENSON acquired on 5 October 1673.
Land-Heir 28 Sep 1682 Rappahannock County (Old), Colony of Virginia, England
[5, 6, 7] inherited by Francis from his father as the eldest son, 3150 acres, being half of the 6300 acres his father and Lawrence SMITH jointly patented in 1666. Francis then divided some of this land between three of his four brothers - Role: Heir
Francis gave "in consideration of the mutual love and affection which I bear unto my dear brothers", 1000 acres on Snow Creek to John and 1600 acres to Richard and Charles. If either Richard or Charles were to die before they reached 21, then the entire 1600 acres would go to the survivor. Also, when Richard, older than Charles, became 21, he would have the right of first division. Presumably, Francis' brother Robert was not included in the gifts because their mother had given Robert 600 acres in 1672.
Guardianship-Ward 2 Mar 1686/87 Rappahannock County (Old), Colony of Virginia, England
[8] After their mother's death, Robert TALIAFERRO II was appointed guardian of his brother Charles and sister Catherine - Role: Ward
Presumably their mother, Katherine DEBNAM TALIAFERRO JONES, was recently deceased.
