Notes:
1807 - Maury County was formed from a portion of Williamson County, Tennessee, USA.

1808 - The town of Columbia was established as the county seat of Maury County. Columbia was incorporated in 1817.

1809 - Giles County formed from a portion of Maury County.

1836 - Marshall County formed from portions of Maury County, Bedford County and Lincoln County.

1843 - Lewis County formed from portions of Maury County, Hickman County, Lawrence County and Wayne County.

1850-1860 - Maury County received land from Lewis County.

1890-1900 - Maury County received land from Williamson County, creating Maury County's present day boundries.
