Notes:
1782 - The town of Lebanon was established in this location, in Fayette County, Virginia, and incorporated in 1784.
1788 - On 25 June, Virginia became the 10th state to ratify the Constitution of the United States of America.
1790 - Lebanon, now located in Woodford County, Virginia, was renamed George Town, and further changed to Georgetown in 1846.
1792 - On June 1, the Commonwealth of Kentucky became the 15th state in the United States of America, with the following nine counties that were formerly in Virginia: Bourbon, Fayette, Jefferson, Lincoln, Madison, Mason, Mercer, Nelson and Woodford.
1792 - Scott County was formed from a portion of Woodford County, Kentucky, and George Town became the county seat.
1794 - Harrison County formed from portions of Scott County and Bourbon County.
1795 - Campbell County formed from portions of Scott County, Harrison County and Mason County.
1819 - Owen County formed from portions of Scott County, Franklin County, Gallatin County and Pendleton County, creating Scott County's present day boundries.
