1801 - Wayne County formed from portions of Green County, Cumberland County and Pulaski County.

1802 - Adair County formed from a portion of Green County.

1804 - Green County received land from Hardin County.

1848 - Taylor County formed from a portion of Green County.

1860 - Metcalfe County formed from portions of Green County, Adair County, Barren County, Cumberland County and Monroe County.

1869 - Taylor County received land from Green County.

1870 - Green County received land from Taylor County, creating Green County's present day boundries.
