Notes:
1849 - Scott County was formed from portions of Anderson County, Campbell County, Fentress County and Morgan County, in Tennessee, USA. The town of Huntsville was selected as the county seat of Scott County.

1850-1860 - Scott County received land from Morgan County, Anderson County and Campbell County. Also, Campbell County received land from Scott County.

1879 - Scott County received land from Fentress County.

1910-1930 - Morgan County received land from Scott County, creating Scott County's present day boundries.
