1846 - The United States gained control of the Oregon Territory.

1859 - Oregon became a state in the United States, and the remainder of the Oregon Territory became the Washington Territory, including present day Idaho.

1863 - The Idaho Territory was created, including present day Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.

1890 - On 3 July, Idaho became the 43th state in the United States of America.
