1792 - On June 1, the Commonwealth of Kentucky became the 15th state in the United States of America, with the following nine counties that were formerly in Virginia: Bourbon, Fayette, Jefferson, Lincoln, Madison, Mason, Mercer, Nelson and Woodford.

1792 - Logan County was formed from a portion of Lincoln County.

1797 - Christain County and Warren County were both formed from a portion of Logan County.

1799 - Muhlenberg County formed from portions of Logan County and Christain County.

1810 - Butler County formed from portions of Logan County and Ohio County.

1819 - Simpson County formed from portions of Logan County, Allen County and Warren County.

1820 - Todd County formed from portions of Logan County and Christain County.

1822 - Todd County received land from Logan County.

1823 - Tood County and Logan County exchanged land.

1869 - Simpson County received land from Logan County, creating Logan County's present day boundries.
