1831 - Nolansville was established in the municipality of Washington, Mexico.

1836 - The Republic of Texas gained independence from Mexico.

1837 - Montgomery County was formed from a portion of Washington County, one of the original counties in Texas.

1846 - Grimes County was formed from a portion of Montgomery County.

1858 - Nolansville was renamed Navasota.

1845 - The Republic of Texas was annexed by the United States of America, and became the 28th state on 29 December.
