1836 - The Wisconsin Territory was formed from the Michigan Territory in the USA..

1841 - Saint Paul was founded in St. Croix County, Wisconsin Territory, USA.

1849 - The Minnesota Territory was founded from the Wisconsin Territory when Wisconsin became a state, and Saint Paul became the capital of the Minnesota Territory. Also, Ramsey County was formed from a portion of St. Croix County and unincorporated land, and Saint Paul became the county seat of Ramsey County. St. Croix County became extinct.

1858 - On 11 May, Minnesota became the 32nd state in the United States of America, and Saint Paul became the state capital of Minnesota.
