1798 - The city of Somerset was first settled, and became the county seat of Pulaski County in 1802.

1799 - Pulaski County was formed from portions of Green County and Lincoln County, in Kentucky, USA.

1801 - Wayne County formed from portions of Pulaski County, Cumberland County and Green County.

1810 - Rockcastle County formed from portions of Pulaski County, Knox County, Lincoln County and Madison County.

1818 - Pulaski County exchanged land with Wayne County.

1826 - Whitley County received land from Pulaski County.

1831 - Wayne County received land from Pulaski County.

1840 - Russell County received land from Pulaski County.

1912 - McCreary County formed from portions of Pulaski County, Wayne County and Whitley County, creating Pulaski County's present day boundries.
