While there, she roomed with a Rebecca SCOTT. On a visit to the SCOTT home in Louisville, Kentucky, Mollie met a friend of the SCOTT family, Mildred COCHRANE. Mildred was making some white shirts for her brother, Dr. William Winston COCHRANE. Mildred told Mollie if she would make the button holes, she would give Mollie her brother. Dr. COCHRANE heard a lot about Mollie from his sister, but when he visited Louisville from his home in Atchison, Kansas, Mollie was always at home in Palmyra. Finally he visited his brother Robert who was also living in Palmyra. Robert's wife was related to the aunt who raised Mollie. When they met, Dr. COCHRANE is reported to have said, "And this is the meteoric Mollie I have anticipated meeting for so long."
